Closing of Art Show no 7
“Churchmusic/Lawnpaintings”

featuring artists Conor Thomspon
and a collaborative installation by Ivory Black Powder, Julia Holter, and Jason Supercreep Grier
Performances by Julia S. Holter

“Her music is witty, surreal and optimistic. She plays without sarcasm in the terrains that divide sentimentality, passion, and control. Her songs are written instinctively, and treated with an off-kilter fastidiousness, working orchestral variety from minimal instrumentation. Her singing voice is crystalline either like sugar or jewelry.
Julia has an unusual fascination with thought and art of the middle ages. Arcane poetry and mystical saints adorn her music, as well as her faux-naif take on medieval figurative art.”

Jason “Supercreep” Grier

“There is one last chance to catch the astronomical alignment of Julia Holter and Jason Grier ( formerly Super Creep ) before their parallel destinies shrink beneath the constellation in Saggitarius, leaving yet another mystery in the night sky of Human Ear Music.
This rare event has been in prominent display in the southern skies since October 6th. Following this event, the only sure way to detect them may be by measuring their quiet pull on all the other stars that surround them.
Professional and amateur stargazers alike are encouraged to come. Set your astrolabes and loop pedals on high.”
